Abstract landscape composition executed in oil on paper with stylised forms suggesting houses and fields in an open landscape. The motif is constructed with horizontal colour fields in blue, green, yellow and pink tones with a darker horizon line.

Bio:
Gunnar Fohlin (1924–1998) was a Swedish painter, printmaker and craftsman. He worked with both figurative and abstract expressions and employed media such as drawing, gouache, printmaking and painting on paper. His works are often characterised by a simplified yet expressive use of colour and rhythmic compositions where landscape forms are reduced to fields of colour and structure. Fohlin exhibited widely in Sweden during the second half of the twentieth century and formed part of the broader development of Scandinavian modernism.
