Bio:
Kjell Blomberg (1931–1989) was a Swedish ceramicist and glass artist who became one of the leading figures in Sweden’s mid-20th-century decorative arts. After studying at Konstfack in Stockholm, he spent over two decades working for companies such as Upsala-Ekeby, Gabriel Keramik, and Gullaskruf Glasbruk. His style is characterized by streamlined elegance and a playful, often humorous touch. Among his most recognized works is the “Häppar” series from 1971 – mouth-blown glass figures featuring colorful, pop-art-inspired designs. Blomberg became a prominent name in Scandinavian modern ceramics and glass, and his works are represented in major collections such as the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
