Biography:
Peer Lorentz Dahl was a Norwegian-Danish painter, born in Bergen and educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He made his debut at the National Autumn Exhibition (Statens Høstutstilling) in Oslo in 1935 and was active in both Norway and Denmark. Dahl worked in a modernist style, often depicting landscapes and still lifes, inspired by artists such as Braque and Morandi. He is particularly known for his glass mosaics in Kampen Church (1990) and the large mural Sunset over Oslo (1993). His works are represented in several national collections, including the National Museum of Norway and the National Gallery of Denmark.
