Large round dish in clear art glass with organic, swirling decoration in black, grey and subtle pale blue tones. The model has a slightly irregular form with a striking abstract pattern concentrated around the upper section of the dish. Marked UHV.

Bio:
Ulrica Hydman Vallien (1938–2018) was a Swedish artist, ceramicist and glass artist educated at Konstfack in Stockholm. She became associated with Åfors Glassworks in the early 1970s and later worked for Kosta Boda, where she became one of the company’s most distinctive artists. Her characteristic visual language is known for bold, free-flowing decoration and motifs such as faces, snakes, tulips and organic patterns. Her best-known collections include Open Minds, Caramba and Tulipa.
