Bio:
Corneille, born Cornelis Guillaume van Beverloo in Liège in 1922 and died in Paris in 2010, was a Belgian-Dutch artist and co-founder of the CoBrA movement. His works are known for a colourful, expressive visual language with birds, women, animals and landscapes as recurring motifs. From the 1970s onwards, his style became more figurative and decorative, and his motifs were often used in textiles, prints and applied art.
