Bio:
Italian alabaster production dates back to antiquity but saw a significant revival in the 20th century, particularly in regions such as Volterra in Tuscany. During the 1930s and 40s, alabaster was widely used for decorative objects in the Art Deco style, where the material’s translucency and natural veining were emphasised through simple, geometric forms.
