Bio:
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) was an Estonian-born ceramicist and designer who became an important figure in Swedish ceramic design. She moved to Sweden during the Second World War and joined Upsala-Ekeby in 1949, where she worked until 1972. Her work is recognised for its sculptural forms, decorative patterns and distinctive glazes. Simmulsons ceramics are now highly sought after by collectors of mid-century Swedish design.
