Bio:
Carl-Harry Stålhane (1920–1990) was a Swedish ceramicist, designer, sculptor and painter. He joined Rörstrand in 1939 and later became one of the factory’s leading artists and artistic director. Stålhane studied at Grünewald’s painting school in Stockholm and at the Académie Colarossi in Paris. His stoneware from the 1950s is particularly recognised for its slender, harmonious forms and refined glazes, often influenced by East Asian ceramics. He remained with Rörstrand until 1973, when he founded the Designhuset studio in Lidköping.
