Set of five lunch plates from the Blue Line tableware series, designed by Grethe Meyer for Royal Copenhagen. Made in light-coloured faience with the characteristic fine blue line along the rim and a simple, functional form. Model 624. First quality.

Bio:
Grethe Meyer (1918–2008) was a Danish architect and designer, born in Svendborg on 8 April 1918. She graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1947 and throughout her career focused on function, proportion and space-saving solutions. Blue Line was created for Royal Copenhagen and launched in 1965. The faience tableware became one of Meyer’s best-known designs and is distinguished by its simple forms and fine blue line along the rim.
