Vibrant abstract composition executed in oil on board with pronounced impasto brushwork and an energetic, expressive visual language. The composition is built from dense, intersecting strokes and lines in shades of green, yellow, red, blue and darker tones, creating a lively rhythm and a strong sense of movement. Unsigned. Bio:
Lars Bertil Bertle (1925–2026) was a Swedish modernist painter from Helsingborg. Largely self-taught, he did not devote himself to painting full-time until the late 1960s. His work is distinguished by vivid colour and an expressive approach, ranging from southern Swedish landscapes, still lifes and figures to strongly abstracted compositions. Bertle is represented in the collection of Helsingborg Museum, which includes, among other works, an abstract oil painting from his Aniara series.
