Hand-thrown stoneware bowl with a broad, outward-curving rim and characteristic black-grey double glaze. The interior is decorated with a distinctive fluted pattern radiating from the centre of the bowl. With original sticker.

Bio:
Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948) was a Danish ceramicist and artist who became a central figure in Danish ceramic art through his long-standing collaboration with Kähler in Næstved. He is particularly known for his powerful, restrained forms, characteristic fluted surfaces and nuanced glazes. During the 1930s, he frequently used Kähler’s distinctive black-grey double glaze, which gave his ceramic works a deep and varied surface. Hammershøi’s works for Kähler are today among his best-known ceramic designs.
