Colourful and expressive Parisian street scene depicting figures along the Seine with Notre-Dame in the background, executed with lively brushwork and strong chromatic contrasts. Signed Erik Larsen.

Bio:
Erik Larsen (1902–1975) was a Danish painter, draughtsman and illustrator closely associated with the artistic community of Løkken. He studied under Karl Larsen in 1932–33 and travelled to Munich and Paris. Paris became a recurring subject in his work, particularly its street life, cafés and colourful characters. His art is characterised by spontaneous, expressive handling, vivid colour and frequently humorous or bohemian figure scenes. Larsen exhibited at Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling and became known for his lively, colourful depictions of modern urban and popular life.
