Royal Copenhagen was founded in 1775 and is one of the worlds most renowned porcelain manufacturers. Blue Fluted Plain is the factorys oldest and most iconic pattern, based on the classic blue Chinese-inspired design that has remained in continuous production since 1775. Early examples from the late 19th and early 20th centuries are especially prized for their exceptional craftsmanship and individually hand-painted decoration by Royal Copenhagens master porcelain painters.
