Bio:
Per Kirkeby (1938–2018) was one of Denmarks most important artists and an internationally acclaimed figure of Neo-Expressionism. Trained as a geologist at the University of Copenhagen, he developed a distinctive visual language inspired by geological formations, landscape, and natural processes. Working across painting, printmaking, sculpture, film, and literature, he exhibited repeatedly at Documenta in Kassel and the Venice Biennale. His graphic works are especially admired for their painterly qualities, rich surface textures, and innovative printmaking techniques.
