Rectangular ceramic jardiniere with moulded fluted form and uranium glaze in warm yellow tones. Decorative flowerpot executed in characteristic art deco style.

Bio:
Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948) was a prominent Danish ceramicist and sculptor, best known for his work for Kähler Ceramics in Næstved. His designs are characterised by monumental forms, ribbed decoration, and a distinctive ability to unite classicism with early modernism. Hammershøi is regarded as one of the most significant figures in Danish ceramic art during the first half of the twentieth century.
