Bio:
Carl Larsson (1853–1919) was one of Sweden’s most important artists and illustrators, trained at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Following his early artistic development in France, particularly within the artists’ colony at Grèz-sur-Loing, he established a highly distinctive visual language centered on intimate domestic interiors, family scenes, and lyrical interpretations of Swedish life. His graphic works and etchings demonstrate the same narrative sensitivity and technical refinement as his celebrated paintings, securing his lasting international importance in Nordic art history.
