Bio:
Hans Hedberg (1917–2007) was a Swedish ceramic artist who settled in Biot in southern France in the 1950s. He is best known for his large-scale ceramic sculptures, but also produced unique and small-series works distinguished by free forms and experimental glazes. Hedberg’s ceramics unite Scandinavian sensibility with a Mediterranean approach to material and surface, resulting in works with a strong visual and artistic presence that gained international recognition.
