Bio:
Mari Simmulson (1911–2000) was a Swedish ceramic artist and designer who worked for many years at Upsala Ekeby. She is recognised for boldly decorated forms with strong graphic expression, often translating natural inspiration into stylised, repeated motifs within Scandinavian modernism. Upsala Ekeby was one of Sweden’s leading ceramic producers in the mid-20th century, combining industrial production with artistic design, and its works from this period are today highly regarded by collectors.
