Bio:
Friedl Holzer-Kjellberg (1905–1993) was an Austrian-born ceramic artist who worked at Arabia in Finland from 1936. She gained international recognition for developing “rice porcelain”, a technique in which small perforations are filled with transparent glaze, giving the porcelain a delicate, almost textile-like quality. Her work represents a refined synthesis of technical innovation and Nordic modernism and is highly sought after by collectors today.
