Kählers Marguerit set, also known as the Magasin set, is an iconic example of Danish ceramics from the mid-20th century. It was designed by Nils Joakim Kähler (1906–1979), who was the fourth generation in the famous Kähler ceramics family.
The History Behind the Marguerit Set :
The Marguerit set was introduced in the 1940s and is characterized by its deep blue glaze decorated with white marguerit flowers. The name "Magasin set" comes from its widespread sale through the department store Magasin du Nord, where it became popular among the Danish public.
The set was produced in earthenware and decorated with hand-painted flowers. It is an example of Kählers focus on functional design combined with aesthetic appeal.
