Bio:
Mason’s traces back to the potter Charles James Mason (1791–1856), who founded the company in Staffordshire in the early 19th century. Mason became particularly known for robust ironstone wares that achieved wide popularity in Britain and export markets. During the 19th and 20th centuries the factory also produced faience and tableware with distinctive transferware decoration. Mason’s is today regarded as a classic name in English ceramics.
